A Fellow Bloggers Devotional and a Reason To Drink More Coffee
Good Monday Morning;
Wednesday, Friday and Saturday last week and today and tomorrow I have been rebuilding a fence in Missoula. That has really cut into my writing time. I don’t have a devotional today but should have one for Tuesday. I have included a devotional from a fellow blogger that I have followed as well as a great reason to drink more coffee.

I am God’s masterpiece.
No, that’s not an arrogant statement. It’s not language I would normally use. It is not something I would choose to say about myself. But I should, and so should all Jesus followers.
It comes straight from Ephesians 2:10. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
I love how God’s word has layers upon layers of meaning and importance as we read it. I can read a piece of Scripture and it speaks to me so deeply that tears fall down my cheeks. This one for instance. “I am God’s masterpiece.” The value attached to that word “masterpiece” contrasts with what I’ve always thought of myself. And that it would be said of me, attaching me to GOD – as in the Almighty one, the one who created angels and light and dark, the Alpha and Omega – really gives me pause. Then I go back and read it again.
Created anew in Christ Jesus.
And I read it again.
So I can do the good things he planned for me long ago.
It brings me back to today’s truth with a stronger grasp of it. Can you speak this confession out loud today? You are God’s masterpiece. He created you anew in Christ Jesus, and He empowers you to do the good things He planned for you long ago. That’s right. God planned long ago for you to do good things. I don’t know about anyone else, but that’s motivation for me to get busy!
After all, I am God’s masterpiece.
What word would you use to describe yourself in God’s eyes?

Few beverages are steeped as deeply in American history and pop culture as coffee. Grade school history teachers say that our nation has been drinking the beverage ever since the Boston Tea Party. The long-running sitcom “Friends” often took place in a coffee shop. Anyone brave enough to have asked another person out on a date may have suggested light conversation over a nice brew. They say there are enough health studies done that you can find one that will support what ever you want to eat or drink. Here is one that you will love if you are a coffee drinker.
The number of nicknames for coffee alone is testament to the beverage’s popularity: a cup of joe, java, jet fuel, mud, battery acid, black gold, mother’s little helper and so on.
Of course, one of the main reasons why coffee is so well-known is because of the jolt of energy it can provide. In fact, the drink has something of a bad rep because of this.
Studies conducted in the past have even linked coffee to negative effects on the heart and other organ systems. But scientists now acknowledge that may of those studies probably failed to separate coffee drinking from negative health habits, such as smoking and lack of exercise.
More recent research suggests that coffee can actually be beneficial for you. But as with all good stories, the truth about coffee has more than one side to it.

Ah, Vernon, you’ve done it again! You bless me by thinking so much of my blog that you put it up on your own. What a gift on this Monday morning! Thank you for that, friend.
And I love the coffee information. I think it’s a very beneficial drink in moderation. And probably best without all the froo-froo that we add to it: sugar, cream, flavor, etc… But then most of us couldn’t drink it
.
Be blessed today!
Shelley’s post goes so well with the ABCs of enduring difficult times in our lives that some of us learned in Bible Study this past December: A Acknowledge God
B Bloom where you are planted
C Concentrate on God’s promises
D Do something useful
E Expect to become a masterpiece
The E means a whole lot more to me now after reading the post.
